Welcome to the Battle for Blindness Foundation

At Battle for Blindness Foundation, we are dedicated to illuminating the path of empowerment for visually impaired girls. Before officially starting the NGO and registration of the organization with Government authorities, Ram Kumar undertook various efforts to make a difference in the lives of visually impaired individuals. These efforts included:

Conducting awareness campaigns to highlight the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and educate the public about the importance of supporting and empowering them.

Providing assistance programs to provide essential resources such as education, healthcare, and vocational training to visually impaired individuals, particularly girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations to mobilize resources, raise funds, and create sustainable solutions for the visually impaired community.

These and many more efforts done at the grassroots level laid the foundation for the Battle for Blindness Foundation’s mission and vision, demonstrating its dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of visually impaired individuals.

From Aug. 2022 onwards as a prominent nonprofit organization, we have been unwavering in our commitment to transform the lives of economically disadvantaged visually impaired girls. At Battle for Blindness Foundation, we are dedicated to illuminating the path of empowerment for visually impaired girls. As a prominent nonprofit organization, we have been unwavering in our commitment to transform the lives of economically disadvantaged visually impaired girls since our establishment in 2022. Over the years, our impact has grown exponentially, and today, we proudly serve a community of abandoned blind girl.

Our core objective is to uplift the lives of visually impaired girls by providing them with support for leading a brighter future. We do this by offering cost-free hostel accommodation, quality food, and invaluable guidance on pursuing education, and career opportunities and getting prepared to lead their lives with confidence. The hostel also has a computer lab and a Braille library.
The founder of our NGO, Ram Kumar, recognized the need to address the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and knew that he could not help all, but took it upon himself to start it somehow. His journey began with a vision of providing a safe and supportive place for blind girls hailing from marginalized and underprivileged backgrounds in rural areas, who often lacked the necessary resources and financial support to pursue higher education or secure job placements. Ram Kumar’s commitment led to the establishment of a free hostel equipped with specialized facilities and training opportunities, catering to the diverse aspirations of young women hailing from different states, all coming to Delhi to pursue their dreams.
We are also working towards reshaping societal perceptions and educating communities about the immense potential and capabilities of visually impaired individuals. We firmly believe that visual impairment should never be seen as a hindrance to leading a fulfilling and normal life. Through awareness campaigns, advocacy, and personal stories of success, we strive to foster a profound understanding that blindness does not define one’s limitations. We aim to inspire a more inclusive and compassionate society that embraces diversity and ensures that visually impaired individuals are provided with the same opportunities and respect as everyone else.
