Battle for Blindness is embarking on a mission to guide employment opportunities for the visually impaired that align with their aspirations and bring meaningful value to their lives and those of their loved ones.
Leveraging the expertise of our dedicated volunteers, many of whom possess robust qualifications and extensive experience in social cause, we are confident in our ability to make a substantial impact on the lives of the visually impaired through the following ways:
- Skill Development Programs: Offer specialized skill development and vocational training programs tailored to the needs and capabilities of blind and visually impaired individuals. These programs can encompass a wide range of skills, from computer literacy and Braille proficiency to communication and mobility training.
- Assistive Technologies: Ensure access to assistive technologies such as screen readers, Braille displays, and adaptive software that enable visually impaired individuals to perform tasks effectively. Providing training and support in using these technologies is crucial.
- Preparing for Interviews: With the experience of previous batches who got placed and volunteers with this expertise we help.
- Internship and Apprenticeship Programs: Guiding them to search for internship and apprenticeship opportunities to gain practical work experience and build their resumes. This can serve as a bridge to permanent employment.
- Legal Rights and Policies: Educating about the legal rights and policies that protect the rights of visually impaired individuals in the workplace, public places, etc. including anti-discrimination laws.
- Career Counseling and Guidance: Provide career counseling services to help visually impaired individuals identify their strengths, interests, and career goals. Offer guidance on educational pathways and job-seeking strategies.
- Accessible Job Portals: Help them to access online job portals that are screen reader friendly and the ones that provide job listings specifically tailored to visually impaired individuals.
