Your Donation will help build a safe and permanent shelter for visually impaired and blind girls.

“Here, we try to give them all that they deserve. Love, affection, education, medical care, legal counsel and even help them stand on their own feet. What started off with just 2 girls has now grown into a safe haven for around 20 girls. We wish to continue doing the good work,” Even in this day and age, visually challenged people are objects of ridicule for many. Sometimes, even their own families treat them as a burden.

These girls dream of a better future, you can make that happen

A few months ago, we started helping a blind girl, Simu Das, who was thrown out of her house by her father. He left her as soon as he came to know that she had become blind. She also had a brother who had a vision impairment. Abandoned, they didn’t have anything to eat for days. I knew that I had to do something for her and we took her in. Today, that same girl has made India proud through the women’s blind cricket team. She recently even won a match against Australia..Ram Kumar, Founder, Battle for Blindness Foundation.

The Current Rented Facility is not very safe for this Girls

Started in 2022, the Battle for Blindness Foundation has become a sanctuary for visually impaired girls. It not only gives them solace and support, but Moulds them into well-rounded citizens who can contribute to the society and nation-building” Imagine being forced to repeatedly change homes, never knowing when the next move will disrupt

your life and future. This is the harsh reality for the visually impaired girls and disabled individuals who rely on our current rehabilitation center and hostel facilities, which are currently on rent. This state of affairs’ volatility and uncertainty pose overwhelming anxiety and hamper their growth as they try to build better lives.

To provide these girls with the stability and security they have been lacking, we are starting a mission to build a separate three-story building to create a lasting rehabilitation home for 40 visually impaired and disabled girls. This new facility goes beyond what was expected of a simple building, which will become the birthplace of dreams and the world of building futures. Here, these girls will be taught how to prepare for a government job, learn some skills that may be useful in their day-to-day lives and gain the confidence they need for a peaceful, independent living.

These girls are now on the verge of being thrown out of their ‘home’

But we can’t do this alone. We need your help to make this vision a reality. Your donation will directly impact the lives of these girls, allowing us to aim to complete the first phase of construction and prepare the initial batch of students by March 2025, with the second batch to follow in April 2025

No one wanted to give these girls a future, not even their own families

It will be not only a place of residing but a shelter for those people who have no one to help, teach them, and provide them with the opportunities to lead a life with dignity and confidence. But we cannot do this single-handedly. To this end, we need your support to turn this vision into reality. Your donation will help these girls and enable us to strive to build the first phase of the construction by March 2025 and equip the first cohort of students by April 2025.

The organization faces financial challenges, requiring funds for essential aspects like rent, food, education, and more. Ram Kumar has now turned to crowdfunding, urging people to contribute to the cause.

2. Economic Hardship: Without familial support, these girls struggle to meet their basic needs, including food and shelter.

3. Educational Barriers: Limited access to education due to the lack of resources tailored to visually impaired students.

4. Social Stigma: Prevailing societal misconceptions contribute to the isolation and discrimination faced by visually impaired girls.
